  • Patient approach.
  • Knowledge and skills through assessing breathing.
  • Understanding of basic human anatomy
  • Assessing circulation and breathing
  • Understanding the components and when to do the secondary survey.
  • How and when to monitor vital signs include pulse, skin and breathing (secondary survey)
  • Administrative responsibilities of first aider.
  • Knowledge and skills of head to toe examinations for conscious and unconscious victims (hands on vs hands off)
  • Treatment of a conscious victim(s).
  • How to create triage.
  • Airway assessment for c-spine control.
  • Spinal injury mechanisms and patient treatment.
  • Understanding and treatment behind medical emergencies such as strokes and seizures.
